Learning to sail in a dinghy is a fantastic way to begin your sailing journey. Single-hander boats sailed by one person are a popular choice for beginners because they are lightweight, easy to rig, and quick to launch. They also offer one of the fastest ways to pick up sailing skills. But if you'd prefer not to sail solo, double-handers are larger boats designed for two people, allowing you to learn alongside others. The choice is yours!

Once you've mastered the basics, there are plenty of ways to get involved in our sailing community. Club racing is an excellent way to hone your skills, and MYC hosts races on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Whether you're keen to find a friendly member to crew for in a race, enjoy leisure sailing along our beautiful coastline, take a trip to the sands, or help out with club activities like working on the powerboat or in the racebox, there's always something happening!

After you've completed your course, speak to your instructor about the best ways to jump into our sailing community.

Please contact us via the contact form on the website for membership enquiries to register interest for the training.
